III Brazil Certificate Fair points
towards a promising scenario to foster the business of certified
products in the country
In its Third Edition, the event has signed the forestry certificate and
fosters business between producers and buyers of certified products in
Brazil and worldwide.
Held between April 16 to 18, at the São
Luís Event Center in São Paulo, the Third Brazil Certificate Fair will
receive producers and buyers of certified products that begin to move
the FSC market with greater force worldwide, due to the rising demand
for these products and companies and financial institutions with
sustainable procurement policies. The products with the FSC stamp will
be presented at the Fair and guarantee that forest management has
followed stringent environmental and social standards.
Created to foster the FSC certification, the III Brazil Certificate Fair
is organized by the IMAFLORA (Forest and Agriculture Management and
Certification Institute), IMAZON (Amazon Institute of the People and
Environment), Amigos da Terra – Amazônia Brasileira and FSC/BRASIL –
CBMF Brazilian Council for Forestry Management, with the sponsorship of
Suzano Paper and Pulp, Klabin, Banco Real, Banco do Brasil and WR São
Paulo Organization of Fairs & Congresses.
Ecoproducts – Visitors may check out a wide variety of certified
products available in Brazil, such as furniture and decorative objects,
home appliances, cosmetics and personal hygiene products, give-aways or
gifts, school and office supplies, books, packaging, among others, with
the guarantee of an environmentally correct origin, socially just and
economically feasible. Among the sectors that will be represented at the
Fair are the wood processors and wood and non-wood processors for
forestry products, architecture and decoration, design, civil
construction and retail trade. This event will also host consumers
interested in this trend, at a special exhibition where they can verify
the evolution in design of certified products based on the concept of
sustainable development, using raw material that arises from certified
forest management.
Sustainable Consumption – For those holding the event, the Third Brazil
Certificate Fair is that moment in which companies, consumers and
communities committed with sustainability will meet to identify options
for responsible products. Furthermore, the Fair intends to motivate
greater awareness in consumption.
Market Forums – During the three-day fair, specialists and authorities
from Brazil and from abroad will present the successful experiences in
sustainable architecture and decoration and offer community forestry
products, besides presenting the panorama for certification in the world
context , debating the FSC certificate in the pulp and paper industry
and debating the deforestation of the Amazon and climate change.
For the opening of the fair that will take place on April 16th, the
presence of authorities and businessmen is expected.
The FSC authorities are becoming a reality for the Brazilian consumer.
According to data from FSC Brazil, throughout all of the countries
presently there are 207 with certifications, a chain of custody,
compared to the 105 three years ago. This certification also includes
other agents in the production process, involving the chain of custody
